Not Fearing

Man’s true spiritual condition is nowhere more clearly seen than in the absence of a proper submission to and reverence for God. Biblical fear for God consists of: 1. awe of His greatness and glory, and 2. dread of the results of violating that holy nature.

No Fear

Man’s true spiritual condition is nowhere more clearly seen than in the absence of a proper submission to and reverence for God.  Biblical fear for God consists of : 1) awe of His greatness and glory, and 2) dread of the results of violating that holy nature (Proverbs 9:10; 16:6; Acts 5:1-11; 1 Corinthians 11:30).

Do you fear God?

Fear God

⁴And I say to you, My friends, don’t fear those who kill the body, and after that can do nothing more. ⁵ But I will show you the One to fear: Fear Him who has authority to throw people into hell after death. Yes, I say to you, this is the One to fear! ⁶ Aren’t five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten in God’s sight.

Luke 12:4-6

What is this fear?

Finally, there is this:

The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life,

turning people from the snares of death.

Proverbs 14:27

I can attest that Proverbs 14:27 is true from personal experience, my life being completely changed by Jesus, and from many, many others I have spoken with that were heading down the wrong path. 

Just some things to ponder.

Awe

Playing around with this photo, I ended up with this, and not exactly sure how.  But I thought the image fit this verse somehow, Amos 4:13.  I don’t really have much else to say…I sit here in awe of this verse, in awe of God, with nothing more to say.
