See that you are not troubled.

Even though we see chaos and confusion around us, the Lord’s Saints are not to be troubled.  Be encouraged that all of this was explained and taught to us beforehand (Mark 13:23), and therefore any storms should not come as any surprise whatsoever.

The “confusion” of James 3:16 is the dis-order that results from the instability and chaos of human wisdom.  “Every evil thing” denotes things that are not so much intrinsically evil as they are simply good for nothing.
